When this project came across my desk I was so excited. You see the Bountiful Land Food For All Farmers Market is a black owned and minority based farmers market in High Point. Why does this matter? Because minorities oftentimes live in "food deserts" areas where fresh produce and healthy choices are unavailable. So they end up having to eat food from convenience stores and gas stations (those without a vehicle) and most of those are junk foods that are high in sodium, fat, and sugar. Which in turn promotes illness and disability within the community. Further exacerbating their financial constraints and their mobility. All because of lack of access.
